Reddened Rooster Stew with Wine / “Kokkoras Krasatos"
 

Ingredients:                                


1 kilo minced beef

2 slices bread, trimmed

2 eggs

2-3 tablespoons olive oil

1 small onion, diced

4-5 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

½ kilo of cheddar (or Greek kasseri) cheese cut in pieces

½ kilo of potatoes

Salt and Pepper to taste

       




Directions:


You mix well the minced beef with the onion, the garlic, salt, pepper, the dill and parsley. Add the trimmed bread and the eggs in the mix till all become a whole.


You take pieces of the mix and you make it in big round shapes. You split it in two pieces add the pieces of cheese inside and then bond them together.

Preheat oven to 160C.

Lightly grease a baking or roasting pan. Add the burgers and the potatoes around. Add 1 cup of water and the olive oil and let it cook for 1 hour in 200C.

Check the meat and potatoes regularly. Cover the pan with foil for the last 15 minutes.


Tip:


You may add mint instead of dill and parsley and you have a different taste!
