Ingredients:

2 slices trimmed bread or breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 small onion, diced

½ kilo ground beef

1 egg

1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint

2 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Black pepper

1 cup flour

1/4 cup olive oil

Directions:

In a large pan heat 2 tablespoons olive oil and sauté the onions for 5 minutes over medium-low heat (2 our of 6). Remove with a wooden spoon and place in a large bowl. Add the ground beef, egg, mint, garlic, the trimmed bread and oregano. Add black pepper. Mix well.

Shape meat mixture into 3 cm balls. Roll the balls in the flour lightly.

Heat the oil in the pan in 3 out of 6 and cook one layer of meatballs for 8 to 10 minutes, browning on all sides. Transfer the meatballs to a plate and repeat.

Tip:

If “souvlaki” is the absolute classic of the Greek tastes, then the “keftedakia” is the absolute starter. Commit yourself now that you will give your best to cook this dish.
