Ingredients:                                        


1 kilo of beef

1 kilo of xilopites

1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder

1 black pepper

1/3 cups of virgin olive oil

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper

1 cup of water

       



Directions:


Add the oil in the pan to slightly cover it. Fry the meat for 10 minutes in high temperature (4/5 out of 6) in the oil. Continue till the meat is turned to brown color and is no watery at all. Add the pepper, the cinnamon and water and let it boil for half an hour, with a cup of water. 

Preheat the oven in 200C.

After half an hour you take it out of the fire and put in another pan for cooking in the oven.

Place it in the oven and let it cook for 10 minutes in 250C by adding some water if necessary, After 10 minutes add the xilopites and some oil and let it cook for 20 minutes.


Tip:


That’s one of the winter associated dishes. It fits perfectly with lots of grated cheese (preferably Greek pecorino) mixed with some pepper. and a Greek salad.
