Ingredients:

6 eggs - separated

5 apples, peeled and grated

500 grams sugar

500 grams flour (farin up)

1 pack (250 grams) butter

1 glass of milk mixed with orange juice

Zest of 1 orange,

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 200C.

The fruits: we clean the apples and we cut them in rounded pieces. We butter a baking pan and we place the pieces of the apples by adding one glass of water, ½ glass of sugar and the cinnamon.

The mix: in a large mixing bowl, you whisk the butter for 2-3 minutes. We add the rest of the sugar, the eggs one by one, vanilla, orange, the milk and at the end the flour.

Once the mix is ready we pour it over the apples. Bake at 200C for one hour or until a knife inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Tip:

My grandmother used the apples from her garden, so this cake was always very delicious due to the strong taste of the apples. So try to find the freshest apples possible.
